NOT JUST ANOTHER DANCE CLASS. JOIN OUR DANCE COMMUNITY. EVENTS

Rhythm Republic is a Sydney-based dance fitness community built on one simple idea:

dance should feel joyful, not intimidating.

We run inclusive dance fitness classes to your favourite pop, hip-hop, Latin, reggaeton, country and house music - blending fun, judgement-free movement with a full-body workout.

Unlike traditional dance classes, there's no pressure to be "good" — dance fitness is about showing up, moving your body, and having fun with a supportive community around you.

And unlike fitness classes, we’re not here to punish you. We’re here to make it feel like you’re not even working out, but having the time of your life.

We pride ourselves on creating a third-space community that goes beyond classes.

We host regular social events, dance parties, as well as offer classes and events to Hens, private organisations and corporations.

so much more than a class, but a third space for sydney

Where the Workout Ends, the Connection Begins

Sydney is full of gyms. It's not full of places where you actually meet people. Somewhere between the isolation of a solo gym session and the formality of a night out, there's a gap — and that's exactly where Rhythm Republic lives.

We call it our third space: not home, not work, not your usual social circle — a room built purely around shared energy, where friendships form because you're moving, sweating, and smiling next to the same people, week after week.

Built for Connection, Not Just Cardio

The OG Class doesn't end when the music stops. Post-class socials, coffee catch-ups, and community events are woven into the Rhythm Republic experience — because we know that some of the best friendships in this city start on a dance floor with someone you've never met.

  • Post-class socials — stick around, meet your class, make it a whole morning or evening out

  • Community events — from themed dance nights to seasonal meet-ups, always something on the calendar

  • Social club partnerships — we've teamed up with Sydney social clubs like Pretty Profound to bring our community together beyond the studio, connecting like-minded people who want more than a workout — they want friends

For the Sydneysiders Craving Real Connection

Whether you're new to the city, out of a routine, or just tired of small talk that goes nowhere, Rhythm Republic gives you a reason to show up that has nothing to do with willpower — and everything to do with wanting to see your people.

This is fitness that doubles as your social life. Come for the choreography. Stay for the community.

Founder

ray

Ray has 25 years experience growing up in New Jersey as a competitive cheerleader and dancer, as well as a coach for children and adults. During her time in NYC, she danced commercial at studios like Broadway Dance Centre and others. After moving to Australia in 2014, Ray continued to dance at a casual level until founding Rhythm Republic. Ray’s desire to share the love of dance with everyone, regardless of their experience or confidence, led her to the world of dance fitness.

Our unofficial mascot, Freya comes along when she can to hell mom (Ray) and Aunty Maria practice routines, film content and just provide general emotional support. You may see her at an upcoming class if she graces us with her presence!
